The only photo equipment in Colonel John Glenn’s cramped Friendship 7 capsule was a point-and-shoot camera loaded with Kodak 35mm film.

Nicholas Samaras is a very talented underwater photographer.  He has discovered the hidden beauty of nature in the water.  Recently he the winner of the 2010 Raja Ampat Entrance Tag Design Contest. Nicholas’ breathtaking tag design features a stylized illustration of a manta ray.

Check out the few best examples of tilt shift photography. “Tilt-shift photography” refers to the use of camera movements on small- and medium-format cameras, and sometimes specifically refers to the use of tilt for selective focus, often for simulating a miniature scene. Sometimes the term is used when the shallow depth of field is simulated with digital post processing; the name may derive from the tilt-shift lens normally required when the effect is produced optically.

The prestigious awards in photo journalism “Pictures Of The Year International” were announced by the Annenberg Space Organization.  In this competition, the four main categories were  Photographer year (newspaper), Photo of the Year (freelance or agency), outlook, global view.

First prize in photography , the (newspaper), a Swedish girl Michelle Oloffson . She was born premature and had little chance to survive , but survived .

The winners of the International Award in Photography for the Conservation of Wildlife were published.  In total more than fifty works in 10 categories were announced.  The categories are Special Award, Landscape, Wildlife, Flora, Scuba, Community at Risk, Environment at Risk, Documenting project related to conservation of wildlife, Puget Sound is in danger, student work.

HDR photo means a photo which has larger dynamic range than an ordinary photo. HDR photos have larger dynamic range than today’s digital consumer cameras are able to capture.  Here we present such dynamic range photos of the famous Lighthouses from all over the world.

Juli Balla has been working as a Sydney-based photographer since 1989. Initially working as an artist, she now focuses primarily on advertising, beauty and portraiture. Her advertising work includes commissions from major companies around the world. She is also represented in London, Paris and Milan.

Brain Skerry was born in Milford, Massachusetts in 1962, and grew up in Uxbridge. He graduated with a BS in media and communications, from Worcester State College. He worked selling corrugated materials for years and did underwater photography on the side.
